Little Creatures - Fennec Fox II
$35.00 AUD
"Little Creatures - Fennec Fox" is an original, limited edition reduction linocut, which I have printed in 10 different colour schemes, 7 of which are available for sale. There are only 32 Fennec Fox prints in total, and there are only 4 in this particular colour scheme which is called "Fennec Fox II".
I love Fennec Foxes! And I have made the ears and tail of this little creature even bigger than normal, because they are my favourite features. I also love the hackles on his back, his flower mask, his fluffy tummy, and the way he is looking out, keeping an eye on things.
This print is part of a series of 4 Little Creatures linocuts. There is also a squirrel, a rabbit and an antelope (you can see these if you select "Little Creatures" in the "Browse" dropdown box on the "Prints for Sale" page. Each Little Creature has the same leaf and flower pattern on its body, and each has a flower shape around its eyes. The leaf and flower pattern on the body of the Little Creatures continues into the ground below the creature, but in different colours. This represents the way we are all made up of the same things as the world around us.
Each Fennec Fox print has been through the press at least 3 times (once for each colour you can see in the print other than white) - and sometimes more, because if I'm not happy with a colour combination once I lift the paper off the lino, I will re-ink the block and do it again!
The Little Creatures prints look great by themselves, or together framed as a set of 2, 3 or 4 - either with different Little Creatures or with the same Little Creature in different colours. They look fantastic framed floating in a 30cm x 30cm white box frame.
Edition: Edition of 4, each signed and numbered in pencil. My printmaking “chop” appears in pencil on the right of my signature
Paper: Velin Arches Blanc 300gsm (a beautiful, high quality, 100% cotton, acid-free printmaking paper)
Image size: 14.5cm wide x 14.5cm high
Paper size: Approximately 18cm wide x 18cm high (there are some minor individual differences, as the paper for each print is hand-torn)
How are reduction linocuts created?
If you are interested in how these prints are created, I have described the print process for "Little Creatures - Squirrel", here.
Once these original reduction linocuts have been sold out, no further originals will be available for purchase.
Please note:
- Each print is produced by hand, and has passed through the printing press multiple times to create the final image. As a result, all prints within an edition are unique, and your print may vary slightly from the images shown.
- The colours of the print may also vary slightly from what you see on the screen (as computer monitors may display colours differently)
- As the artist, I retain copyright in all works I produce. Copyright does not transfer upon sale.
